first off happy chinese new year to all you guys out there, hoping all had a happy celebration.
so in the spirit of chinese new year i shall feature some amazing artists.

today i shall feature Pretty-As-A-Picture from deviant art.
she is a young emerging photographer, also known as Nirrimi.
she is 15 years old living in australia and an amazing photographer!

here you can see her recent piece. even though she lacks her favourite camera (named boo) she has also been able to produce amazing pictures such as this piece. i especially love how the sparkles in the background are crystalised and blurred, leaving the face in focus. the makeup on the models face is only heavy around the eyes. the blue eyeshadow compliments the dots of blue in the background. the strong makeup on the eyes bring attention to the models expression, this along with her hand gesture gives her a look of "awe" and in some sense sadness. the dirty blond hair of the model goes with the overall colour scheme of the photo, the dull brightness.

yet another piece from Nirrimi. this time it is a self portrait of herself. i like the clours in this piece alot, how the slight pinkiness of her skin compliments the cool blue of her shirt. her eyes are an amazing greenish blue and the eyelashes frame her beautiful eyes wonderfully, drawing attention to the captivating eyes. her pink glossy lips are complimented by the details of her pink hoop earring, this brings in contrast of shapes. half her face is cropped, this gives the viewer a sense of mystery, what is behind that beautiful face?

this photo by nirrimi is another of my favourite. the colours and the focus are the strong point in this picture. the white gauze covers her face leaving her pair of beautiful blue eyes. this gves the viewer a sense of mystery. the background is the same shade of blue as her eyes, this compliments it and frames the picture.

although this is not one of her best pictures in my opinion, i like the concept behind it. how everyone always puts up a smile just for the camera and to please everyone else when inside you are screaming and waiting to let go. the idea of using a slip of paper to express her "inner thoughts" is really interesting.
